Delete your account

You can delete your PinPoint account and everything in it at any time. Here is exactly what happens.

From inside the app

  1. Open PinPoint and go to Settings.
  2. Scroll to Delete account.
  3. Tell us why, if you want to. It is optional and it helps.
  4. Take the offer to export your pins first if you want a copy. This is the last easy moment to get one.
  5. Confirm.

If you cannot open the app

Write to team@getpinpointapp.com from the email address on your account, asking us to delete it. We will confirm before anything is removed, and we will act within 30 days.

What gets deleted

  • Every pin, with its notes, ratings, places and dates.
  • Every photo and file you uploaded.
  • Your collections and your tags.
  • Your profile, your name, your email address and your settings.

The 30 day window

Deletion is scheduled rather than instant. Your account is deactivated immediately, so you are signed out and nothing is reachable. Everything is then permanently erased after 30 days.

Signing back in during those 30 days cancels the deletion and restores everything exactly as it was. After the 30 days it is gone and we cannot bring it back, including from backups, which age out on their own schedule.

What is kept, and why

A small amount of information survives deletion where the law requires it, such as records of payments for tax and accounting purposes. These are held by Apple, Google and our payment provider rather than being linked to your pins, and they contain no content you created.

Shared pin links you already sent keep working until they expire, 90 days after you created them. A link holds only that pin's name and location, not your photos, notes or account, and it is deleted automatically when it expires.

Anonymous usage analytics that were never tied to your name are not deleted, because there is nothing in them to connect back to you.

Your subscription

Deleting your account does not cancel a PinPoint+ subscription. Subscriptions live with Apple or Google, so cancel yours in your Apple ID settings or your Google Play account, otherwise it will keep renewing.
